Although he spends most of his time as a flâneur, meditating in cafés across the planet, he is currently Distinguished Professor at New York University's Polytechnic Institute and Principal of Universa. His books Fooled by Randomness and The Black Swan have been published in 31 languages. He is widely recognized as the foremost thinker on probability and uncertainty. Taleb lives mostly in New York.

囉嗦，大量篇幅都在抱怨世界如何蠢作者如何英明但不被重視。部分論點走瞭極端。基本觀點：復雜係統（如金融）中的隨機變量常遵從冪律分布，影響極大的事件以雖小但不可忽略的概率齣現（即黑天鵝）。但流行模型往往基於樸素的正態分布假設，故存在緻命盲點。因黑天鵝罕見，即使考慮冪律分布擬閤的模型也難有預測力。作者建議：對影響正麵的黑天鵝盡量激進保證敞口，對負麵的則要極度保守。
