让·爱尔斯坦（Jean Bethke Elshtain，1941-2013），美国艺术与科学学院院士，著名的评论家、政治哲学家和公共知识分子，在宗教学、政治学、伦理学等领域均享有盛名。一生所获荣誉无数，其中包括“古根海姆学者”，美国政治学会的“古德诺奖”。曾任芝加哥大学神学院社会与政治伦理学洛克菲勒讲席教授，同时也在芝加哥大学政治学系任教。著有 Women and War; Just War Theory; Democracy on Trial 等作品。《公共的男人，私人的女人》是她的代表作。
