评分衣食父母，解答了太多问题。然而更多的作为一个通史简单叙述了整个司法体系的变迁，没有给出作者的判读。可能只是因为成书比较早？此外作者在讲“教育改变思想”的时候没有提及无政府主义对此论点的影响，不知是否为疏忽。关于“悔罪”减少刑期这个特色只有在结尾简略提及，这个话题应该可以进一步展开来讲，不过这个书本质可能就是法学通史，因此没有必要在细节上多费笔墨吧。关于49年后法律模糊，辅助迫害持异见者，进而导致大范围恐慌这个结论，即使在今天看，也是心有戚戚焉。
