雷·卡普欽斯基(1932—2007),生於波蘭東部小城平斯剋近郊一鄉村教師傢庭。童年遭受二戰磨難。高中畢業後開始發錶作品。1951年考入華沙大學語言文學係,後轉入曆史係學習。1956年畢業分配到《青年旗幟》雜誌社工作,同年派往印度。1957年從日本轉道北京,任特派記者。從此開始瞭他四十餘年駐外記者的生涯,足跡遍及五洲四洋一百餘個國傢,特彆是深入拉美、非洲、中東等人跡罕至的蠻荒地帶,親臨火綫,發迴彌漫著硝煙的真實報道和照片。他一生親曆二十七場革命和政變,四次被判死刑,四十餘次被拘關押。同時作為作傢,獲五十項國內國際大奬,六次提名諾貝爾文學奬候選人,創作瞭二十餘部文學作品,有的被譯成三十餘種文字,在世界廣為傳播,被譽為20世紀最具影響力的作傢之一。其主要著作有《生命中的另一天》(1976)、《皇帝》(1978)、《伊朗王中王》(1982)、《帝國》(1993)、《太陽的影子》(1998)、《與希羅多德一起旅行》(2004)。

評分总体来说这本两条thread的书值得一读,可能和自己的部分经历有关。但是作为一个女人纯粹从语言上翻译这本书是一种硬伤,对基本的历史还是需要补习,而各种书后致谢和校订的人如果不是缺乏历史知识就是敷衍了事未认真阅读,比如波斯的薛西斯(Xerxes)被翻成“克谢尔克谢斯”,...
