其实讲得很浅显生动，当代小说毕竟还是英美传统的，所以读一下这种入门书，会很有启发。只是真到手上的时候觉得翻译有点为难。里面提到了一些比较新的英语小说还没有翻译到中文里。

废话连篇，言之无物，充斥着无处不在的低级的文字游戏。作者始终在避实就虚，蜻蜓点水，说些人所共知的话，对于如何感受和把握小说则几无分析可言。章节标题取得哗众取宠，似乎深得营销学真传，内容则不过是包装过的空壳而已。

笔调很可爱，读书时会笑起来的文学理论入门。有的例子没读过，有部分甚至完全没听说过【捂脸。虽然标题说like a prof. 但事实上也常聚焦于阅读体验，很多处get梗的开心，让我想把常书中提到我却没读过的几本补起来。作者是John Fowles的真爱，提到侦探小说时混合着嘲讽和自豪【？的语调也超可爱
