在对话的早些时候，苏格拉底击败了修辞学家高尔吉亚（Gorgias）和他的追随者波洛斯（Polus）。高尔吉亚的弱点在于他不愿区分知识与行为，也就是说，他不承认一个人在明知道何为义和不义的情况下，还会做不义之事，因而他就“会不会有人将修辞作为不义的工具”这点产生了自相矛...  

Sachs 是在美國 St. John's Annapolis 的老師（已退休？），他的譯本非常注意文本細微處而不會籠統用同樣的詞譯不同的原文，於是不懂古希臘文的學生可以用他的譯本作研究或者與原文對照練習古希臘文。這本的注解也很有幫助，將柏拉圖的 Gorgias 和亞里斯多德的 Rhetoric 對勘非...
