并不很好，当参考文献还行。通篇都是史实的堆砌，没有很精辟的分析。不过建立一个叛乱和反叛乱演化的框架，从一种单一的军事手段，往往作为正规军的辅助，到带有意识形态，以最后阶段转化为正规军战胜敌人为目的的毛泽东创立的革命战争，再到对winning hearts and minds的重视，又介绍了一些不带国家主义性质的叛乱，城市叛乱的优缺点和冷战时期proxies之间的叛乱。
