Bringing together the highlights of a decade and a half of groundbreaking research into the cultural life of media consumers, "Fans, Bloggers, and Gamers" takes readers from Jenkins' progressive early work defending fan culture against those who would marginalize or stigmatize it, through to his more recent work, combating moral panic and defending Goths and gamers in the wake of the Columbine shootings. Starting with an interview on the current state of fan studies, this volume maps the core theoretical and methodological issues in Fan Studies. It goes on to chart the growth of participatory culture on the web, take up blogging as perhaps the most powerful illustration of how consumer participation impacts mainstream media, and debate the public policy implications surrounding participation and intellectual property.

要變成詹金斯的腦殘粉瞭_(:3」∠)_他說自己是一個media slut哈哈哈哈。對fandom的觀察都很準確到位，他對媒介的看法也很樂觀（盡管負麵現象也沒有少過，不過詹金斯很犀利地指齣這是“現實”自己就有的問題，治理的根本還在於reality）。然而毋庸置疑的是，media democracy也會遭遇民粹問題，也會遭遇烏閤之眾的問題，甚至新媒介就在加劇這些問題；以及更嚴重地，異化人（例如《黑鏡》、《單身公寓401-410》）。詹金斯在本書中基本沒有討論這些問題，但這恰恰也是媒介自己的reality.（當然，還因為本書其實是舊文集……）
