Rabinow borrowed a saying from another scholar:" the comprehension of the self by the detour of the comprehension of the other." We can see vividly the emotional, political and interpersonal facet during the enthnographic process. The relation between the informants and the anthoropoligist involes the power/dominance and trust factors.
