著者簡介

A.韋伊（Andre Weil，1906-1998），二十世紀最有影響的數學傢之一，是法國著名的布爾巴基學派的創立者和領導者之一。他的主要貢獻在代數幾何、數論、群論、數學史等領域，在1979年因其“把代數幾何引入數論的令人振奮的工作”獲得沃爾夫奬。

韋伊的許多著作均屬數學經典，其中包括《代數幾何基礎》（Foundations of Algebraic Geometry，1946）、《基礎數論》（Basic Number Theory，1967）、《拓撲群及其應用導論》（Lintegrationdans les Groupes Topologiques et ses Appfications，1940）以及本書等。
