算是一本有趣的科普書吧。大二時候花瞭兩個禮拜看完瞭The male brain和The female brain，這兩本書的結構相似。都是從心理學，生物學和神經科學的角度來分析男女思維方式，情緒和心理成長的不同。裏麵的舉例通俗易懂。

關於女性從胎兒到青春期到懷孕到絕經之間激素及受其影響的大腦的變化的科普，舉例有點囉嗦比the essential difference好一點；一個有趣的現象是：人們（像本書作者）會把那些對我們自身行為觀念情緒等等的物理化學生物等等解釋看作是真實的機製，在機製被看作是操縱的同時好像又誕生瞭一個真正的我，這個新的我能祛魅自身，改變自身，掌控自身。nature上對本書的一篇完全負麵的book review: http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v443/n7112/full/443634a.html。upenn教授指齣引用數據不實：http://itre.cis.upenn.edu/~myl/languagelog/archives/003923.html。
