关于小罗斯福时期国内经济政策的另一部经典，相比Ellis Hawley的The Problem of Monopoly，个人更喜欢这本。Brinkley将1937年之后新政自由主义转型的历史背景分析地很透，对几派势力的划分也比Hawley更复杂细腻，中间穿插的十几个人物传记性描写很有吸引力，对于具体政策变化、机构撤立背后政治斗争的分析也有不少让人叫好之处。Brinkley教授已于去年因类似阿兹海默症的恶疾不幸离世，RIP。
