華盛頓州立大學畢業，海明威文學奬暨美國國傢書捲奬得主。撰寫的喜劇電影劇本《以煙傳訊》，曾贏得“最佳觀眾票選”及“製片人大奬”兩項榮譽。在詩文的創作上，他於1998年“世界重量杯詩人創作競賽”獲得首奬，之後創下連奪該奬四年冠軍的記錄，至今無人可匹敵。
