看完還是對民粹主義有瞭不同的認識。追溯美國19世紀末産生民粹主義那段是新知。對FN的描述也開拓瞭視野，畢竟國內媒體隻會說他們是納粹。民粹主義是對抗建製派而産生。右翼民粹主義反對移民，左翼不反對。自由主義確實是鼓吹人的自由流動從而産生經濟社會效益的最大化，然而本土人工高、移民工資低，損害瞭本地人的利益。但是民粹主義所謂把工作留給本地人的做法，很多時隻是口號，特朗普也沒能創造更多的就業。更何況AI時代即將到來。作者預測錯瞭一件事，特朗普確實贏瞭。
评分在Trump當選後再來評論這本書心情復雜。本書比較客觀地解釋瞭在什麼樣的社會環境下容易産生populism，並以Trump和Sanders在本次大選中的錶現作為例證進行瞭解釋。純看熱鬧心態，it is a shame that Sanders didn't defeat Clinton。書中比較讓人睏惑的一點是neoloberalism和establishment在某些context下似乎是interchangeable的，而neoliberalism有似乎有著非常廣泛的定義，幾乎可以認為就是populism的反麵。這一場elite與people之間的戰爭將會漫長且painful，未來幾十年估計會很好看。
