現象學是在絕對被給予性範圍內來研究認識過程，被認識的對象以及如何在認識過程中認識齣對象... 認識對象可以不內reell在於認識過程中，比如聲音被我們聽齣是聲音時實際的聲音已經過去瞭。本書重點不是進行現象學研究，而是研究現象學的方法，即論證對本質的考察本身，對認識活動與認識對象的關係的考察本身，都是在絕對被給予性範圍之內的，從而纔可能在這基礎之上來進行現象學研究。

Husserl attacks psychologism's view that philosophy is reducible to a factual science. (First appeared in 1900) He also deems the notion of laws of thought as ambiguous. 鬍塞兒受到老師Brentano和笛卡兒的影響頗深（on object perception, not on the problem of knowledge) , and not on Kantian sense.
