2017.4 重读。第一代乔伊斯研究，讲的东西大多成了常识。循着细琐的语法裂隙追述叙事的张力精彩极了，老一辈学者文本细读的功力真让人绝倒。

薄薄一本，也是喬伊斯研究經典之一了吧。美中不足大概在於停留在了敘事分析。討論Ithaca一章認為是“Tell me, Muse”的問答式寫法，說起來每次我讀那章都覺得像是在讀公穀。句子寫的難看是真的，不知道是不是因為style這一necessary evil。A world where "words detect the gravitational field of the nearest person"，內外敘事聲音的二分。須重讀Moretti來看看喬伊斯在小說敘事譜系中的角色。討論喬伊斯與歷史/歷時性的部分沒有完全懂，繆斯與終章的Molly之間的等號也尚有不太清楚之處，此外“Objectivity”還真是個問題重重的詞啊，也不知道換一個說法會不會清晰些。
