13年12月23日點的在看，整兩年半纔看完，算是破瞭個人閱讀記錄瞭。20世紀前半世紀的小兒女情長，主要發生於紐約的中産階級。一篇又一篇刊登於vogue和名利場的故事絕妙諷刺瞭愛情中和失去愛之後的男男女女。看多瞭有種恍然活在1918年電話需要接綫員的紐約。半部分是關於作者的采訪和書信。

俏皮話講的漂亮不代錶小說詩歌寫得好，目前讀完的還沒發現印象深刻的閃光點。她和現在的很多當紅寫手一樣，大概過瞭這個時代，也就如同死灰瞭吧。。
