具體分析的時候由於作者研究方嚮的問題，那20個中國夢的選取依舊還是作者自己想避開的那種“外國人印象中的能代錶中國人的中國人”，因而他序言裏想實現的研究中國當代知識分子的聲音的目標沒太實現。辛苦又是pluralizing中國夢又是研究美國夢又比來比去的，卻以杜拉拉結束，腦子有病吧？

之前讀作者寫的一些研究中國民族主義的東西感覺還算有見解，大概知識分子研究真的不是他該搞的領域。intro裏他diss瞭剋裏姆林學的approach，但大概因為自己本行IR又不熟批判理論，接下來寫的20 visions卻把各種毫無關聯的東西比來比去，又因為實在毫無關聯隻能比較最錶層的浮皮潦草。每個case的選擇也都很可疑，讓人感到外行（比如種族主義的例子那麼多他選瞭一個完全沒人關注的選秀節目）。最後一章對杜拉拉的敘述讓人覺得他就是把自己剛看完的電影硬寫進來，而且寫得也十分淺薄：剝離開雞湯成功學和職場厚黑學在中國的熱度，甚至沒有提及這個職場文化中的性彆話語，憑空提煉齣“夢”的關鍵詞，強行比較杜拉拉和趙汀陽賈樟柯，十分莫名其妙，簡直就是這本不著邊際的書的縮影。

the American Dream is like the China dream. It has many versions and it promotes diverse and often conflicting values. i highly appreciate two countries' optimistic and pragmatic spirit with can-do attitude that animates people to work hard for a better future.
