The thoughts and drawings in this book were made in the month of January, 1994, Hejduk explains, I wanted to make two architectures in love . . . to have architectural intercourse on every level...chromosomic exchange.

The drawings are explained in his essay Sketchbook Notes, and Still Life/Dead Nature elucidates his thoughts about space.

感谢老朱同学从英国老远带回来的书啊不过完全看不懂画的什么玩意我和Kayla说这玩意真难懂，她说：Yes， You can understand only if you are crazy. 告诉老朱，老朱反说她就喜欢看不懂的，可以发散思维啊，而且你说是啥都可以啊！嗯敬仰的小才女，如果和你一样有有才，我估计能喜欢上。
