著者简介

莫里斯·克莱因（Morris Kline, 1908-1992），纽约大学库朗数学研究所的教授，荣誉退休教授，他曾在那里主持一个电磁研究部门达20年之久。克莱因的著作很多，包括《数学：确定性的丧失》和《数学与知识的探求》等。

在图书中心借过第二册老版本的,结果一发不可收拾,把全部四册买了下来,新版本的.椭圆方面还不怎么了解.....对椭圆的概念有点云里雾里..........

书写的不错，翻译的还行。比较详细，对数学的发展以及各个分支的演变介绍的很好。不过如果对数学兴趣不大，或者没有坚持下去的毅力，看完是有难度的。
