著者簡介

庫爾提烏斯（Ernst Robert Curtius, 1886-1956），德國文獻學傢、羅曼語言與文學批評傢。生於德國坦恩（Thann），曾遊曆德國、瑞士、英格蘭等地，1904年起在波恩學習梵文和比較文獻學。1913年，他提交瞭大學教師資格論文——論述十九世紀法國批評傢布呂內蒂埃（Ferdinand Brunetière）的文章，並因此成瞭編外教師（Privatdozent），不久在波恩又榮升副教授。1920年，他在馬爾堡齣任大學教授，1924年，前往海德堡任職。五年後，他返迴波恩，接替著名的語言史專傢呂布剋（Meyer-Lübke），擔任羅曼文獻學教授，直至退休。1956年，庫氏於羅馬逝世。著有《岌岌可危的德國精神》（Deutscher Geist in Gefahr）、《新法蘭西的文學先鋒》（Die literarischen Wegbereiter des neuen Frankreich）、《歐洲文學與拉丁中世紀》（Europäische Literatur und Lateinisches Mittelalter）等，其中《歐洲文學與拉丁中世紀》是文學批評領域的經典之作，幾十年來暢行不衰，給他帶來瞭廣泛的聲譽。
