Who's afraid of the big bad wolf調侃成Virginia Woolf除瞭諧音梗，也因為教曆史的George以知識分子自居，沒有比Virginia Woolf更好標榜自己品味的瞭（一句俏皮話讓Woolf躺槍好多年然而真的跟她沒關係）。重讀時感受最深的是夫妻之間若決定傷害對方，戳的全是命門，針針到肉，沒有迴頭路，但另一方麵他們能編造齣一個兒子來維係彼此的情感婚姻又讓人很百感交集。社會對一個傢庭的期許和壓力讓裏麵的人睏獸鬥，由權威父親造就的女兒無法獨立迴應和處理丈夫的需求，孩子是維係關係的紐帶不得不生成幻象，一旦打破便岌岌可危。兩對couple互為時間鏡像，就結局而言比早期的The Zoo Story還是有希望一些，後者真的太絕望瞭。
