Norman Lewis (born December 30, 1912 in Brooklyn, New York – died September 8, 2006 in Whittier, California) was an author, grammarian, lexicographer, and etymologist. Lewis was a leading authority on English-language skills, whose best-selling 30 Days to a More Powerful Vocabulary published by Pocket Books in 1971 promised to teach readers "how to make words your slaves" in fifteen minutes a day.

學無止境覺得太晚遇見這本好書雖然說看完不見得你的詞匯量就能翻倍但是它幫你構建一種學習的方法以及瞭解英語的途徑不再是死記硬背吧帶你認識有血有肉的英語很棒的一本工具書有趣不枯燥但依舊需要反復翻閱和記憶說到底這個纔是最根本的然而是什麼帶你入門也尤為重要

字根記憶法被公認為最好的單詞記憶法之一，這本書優於那些字根詞典的地方是：它是按特定主題和重要字根有係統地交叉編排的，更具相關性和趣味性，可惜隻有16章，三兩下就沒瞭(PS: 平時碰到生詞查下www.etymonline.com也不錯，比劉毅那本方便好用，後者我多年來的使用率幾乎為零)

好像都没正经写过什么书评，但是这本书，确实值得大家好好看看。我其实也是偶然在豆瓣闲逛的时候，看见这本书的评价很高，所以买来看的。对于学英语很多年的人来说，有种打通任督二脉的意思，哈哈。但是不得不说，这本书对于词汇量还说，还有一定要求的，不然太多生词很难坚持...
