Blixen wrote this book under her pen name Isak Dinesen. Her descriptive writing make this book very enjoyable. The book tells daily life in her coffee plantation near Nairobi. Because of her deep understanding and connection with this land, the book is especially vivid and unique, and also fragmentary, hence suitable for slow reading.
