读了2遍, 开始觉得很枯涩, 后来发现写的很弱...

作者那种远观历史的sense of detachment和历史本身的细节结合得特别好，有点微言大义之感，有的地方冷冷静静长篇论述有的地方又让人想哭出来...读完第六章的时候正好在车站等车，晚上又黑又湿只有巴士站的一点灯光，仿佛觉得自己也是时光外的幽灵。

美国立国之初的意识形态博弈。这本书写得再好不过，所以肯定五星；不过作者偏向杰斐逊，而我更认同亚当斯，美国例外论不但荒唐而且非常危险。

相当于一个描写美国开国各位国父的六幕历史剧。第一幕决斗很有意思！往下一直到华盛顿的告别，故事性和可读性似乎有点逐渐递减的味道。期待最后杰弗逊和亚当斯的恩恩怨怨能够把整个剧推向高潮。另，回哥提醒第二幕晚餐本身的内容很重要啊~
