Jay Rubin is a professor of Japanese literature at Harvartn University.He is the author of Haruki Murakami and the Music of Words and he has also translated Murakami's Norwegian Wood and The Wind-up Bird Cbronicle.

依旧最喜欢最后两个故事，村上为数不多的可爱的作品。
评分由日文译为英文，再由文字转为朗读，再由朗读者的声音信号映射成我脑海中的形象，我没有立场说我读懂了村上想要表达的。但还是挺喜欢，一场地震，不仅仅影响了直接受难的人们，也间接影响了主动或被动关注它的人们，继而又影响了与这些人相关的人们……正如地震四散的震波，如涟漪一般，一波一波铺展袭来，久久不能平息。
评分村上的after the quake里六篇short story，两篇发在纽约客，发在格兰塔杂志的Thailand不知道为什么觉得很是特别，但最喜欢的还是那篇发在GQ的青蛙君拯救东京。跑步时一直在想super frog saves tokyo这个短故事。之所以喜欢这只青蛙，不仅因为他引用尼采和陀斯妥耶夫斯基，更因为它慈悲。当katagiri这个四十岁的loser说自己只是eat，sleep，shit时，青蛙君说了让人感动的话：整个东京只有你才能帮我，我就是要拯救像你这样的人。这大致是蛋与墙的主题了。即便觉得自己活得猪狗不如、了无生趣、一生也就这样了，青蛙还是惦记着你，拼死也要拯救你，即便你从来不知道有这样一只青蛙拯救了世界。
