约翰·齐曼（1925-2005），知名理论物理学家和科学技术学家。他在牛津大学获得哲学博士学位后在剑桥大学任教，1964年成为布里斯托尔大学理论物理学教授，1967年因金属电特性的研究而当选为英国皇家学会会员。1982年后长期致力于科学技术的社会关系、科学技术学的系统分析和研究，成为国际上公认的权威学者。出版有《电子与光子》、《公众知识——科学的社会维度》、《可靠知识——科学中信念之基础探索》、《关于科学与社会的教学与研究》、《科学学导论》、《一心一意——科学的集体化》等十余部著作。
