Harper Lee was born in 1926 in Monroeville, Alabama. She is the author of the acclaimed novels To Kill a Mockingbird and Go Set a Watchman, and was awarded the Pulitzer Prize, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and numerous other literary awards and honors. She died on February 19, 2016.

Even the greatest men couldn't stand a chance against the prejudices rooted in the trench of people's hearts. BUT, even the harshest prejudices couldn't stand a chance again the tenderest goodwill harbored in the hearts of people. It's people. It's complicated. You've got to stand in one's skin and walk around it.

拖了好长时间终于看完了，基本上前三分之二都在等到底什么时候才开始讲案子，最后等到了法庭戏果然一气呵成。很多细节和人物都很感人，而且承认故事的伟大超时代主题，但是看到评论里大家如此泪奔地叫好，不免觉得我可能还是没完全看懂。

太好看了。从儿童视角塑造沉稳正直少言寡语但洞察世事的父亲，不难看出为什么Atticus Finch成为文学作品中经典的律师形象。不打算看后面的Go Set a Watchman毁经典了，电影版倒是一定要看起来。
