It's so heavy that it took me almost a month to finish. A moving attempt to rescue the eternal feminine, the female body that is deemed the condition of possibility for politics and thus rendered mute, without normalizing or merely making it into a symbol of totalitarianism. Llosa is indeed a first-class novelist.
