第一次見Snark這個詞是在《神靈狩》裏，第13集標題照搬小說最後那句“For the Snark was a Boojum, you see.” 作者某天腦子裏莫名其妙冒齣這麼一段話來，然後有瞭這本書。有人不停問他這首詩隱含著什麼意義，他一直強調他自己也不明白。然後有人還建立瞭個Boots是殺害Baker的凶手這一說法（“It's a Boo-” 沒有說完，後麵接的音不是“jum”，而是鞋匠的“ts”，殺害動機是因為baker穿瞭三雙靴子在腳上。如果真是這樣，我隻能說，這不愧是鬍鬧文學啊哈哈！）
