Very beautifully written, heart breaking, with certain details subtly handled. I fell in love with Gilbert halfway through the book. Can't wait to see Dan and the stunning seaview at Cornwall.

It is an absorbing and exquisite story that i almost hardly stop reading. Quite unbelievable, as a romantic story, uh? It's beautiful, but such a tragedy. The way of flashbacks makes me read the second half of the story in sorrow. I would say Dan Stevens may be the perfect one for the character of Gilbert as i imagine.

I don't normally read romantic novels, and I decided to read this one purely because of the film, but this book totally got me. It is one of the few (so far) English books that I find hard to put down. Had I been given the chance I'd have finished it in one...
