An older woman, dying of cancer, weaves a poisonous story to save her life. 评分更勁爆的一本，謀殺，死亡，戀童，身體畸形，入室搶劫，不是很喜歡titular（最後一個）故事；“Munro isn’t interested in standard literary aesthetics. She doesn’t traffic in the artful, the lyrical or the euphonious. When she savages your heart, it’s with language almost ostentatious in its refusal to be pretty.”
评分subtlety. Love her description of ageing.
