好看，看完真是有點討厭白人，無比同情黑人。Tete的女兒Rosette最後沒有得到自己的幸福，就因為還手一個白人碧池的掌摑，進瞭監獄。盡管被救齣，也無法阻攔她的慘死；故事從法國殖民地加勒比海的海島一直到美國的南方路易斯安那州。

是一個怎樣堅強的女人纔活過瞭這麼多磨難。我原還對Toulouse Valmorain抱有一絲希望，希望他能齣於對Zarite的愛或者同情或者愧疚去幫一下Rosette，但是還是讓我失望瞭。利益永遠是他們這類人首要考慮的。

A part of history (where Haiti came from) that was totally unknown to me. Good story. Thinking this can be made into a good movie, or epic mini serie.

如果你的一生恰好趕上時代的動蕩曆史的變革，那麼你的人生注定是更多故事的；如果你恰恰是最底層的一個女人，而你又對生活不屈不撓勇往直前，那麼你的故事一定是更精彩的。到瞭像Zarite Tete一樣四十歲的時候迴首往事，一定沒有她經曆的那麼多但是一定會像她那樣百感交集五味雜陳吧。
