是一个怎样坚强的女人才活过了这么多磨难。我原还对Toulouse Valmorain抱有一丝希望，希望他能出于对Zarite的爱或者同情或者愧疚去帮一下Rosette，但是还是让我失望了。利益永远是他们这类人首要考虑的。

好看，看完真是有点讨厌白人，无比同情黑人。Tete的女儿Rosette最后没有得到自己的幸福，就因为还手一个白人碧池的掌掴，进了监狱。尽管被救出，也无法阻拦她的惨死；故事从法国殖民地加勒比海的海岛一直到美国的南方路易斯安那州。
