A massive wayward disturbing meltdown of humanity. They just don't leave. People don't run from danger because there's something in it they long for.
评分Favourite Ballard so far!!! An atypical novel about a typical class struggle. Favourite character (out of the three protagonists) is Wilder - his metamorphosis is so fluid yet so absolutely daunting. Laing, the 'only sane person' who eventually succumbs to his own perversions and enjoys the high rise the most out of all two thousand people.
