The volume also includes a consolidated bibliography of sources cited by these authors and an introductory essay by the editors that surveys the new institutional economics of the firm and issues raised in the anthology.

經濟學界最經典和最前沿的製度經濟學和企業研究文獻匯編。現在不太喜歡看這種匯編書，主要是把論文和書籍切割選粹之後會顯得很不完整，作為一種入門索引是好的做法，要深入探討還是應當看全文。當然作為捷徑不錯，也有許多“名傢”作品之外的精彩文獻。倒是開頭一篇introduction很顯功底，關於企業性質和相關研究的框架、脈絡、對話都梳理得很清晰。不過似乎比較不爽科斯的製度經濟和財産權理論，特彆是對其企業內計劃和科層占優的論述批評較多，認為抹殺瞭企業的內部契約本質，較為偏嚮張五常等人推崇的企業內部契約和租值論。另外也有許多論文注意美歐企業管治體製上的差異。第四部分對資本市場、企業融資、控股結構和企業運作與偏好的論述，提供瞭許多基礎理論，應當可以對想從這方麵深入瞭解08年金融危機的讀者有所助益。
