Grandmother Donkey remembers well the night she carried Mary to Bethlehem and the sacred events that followed. Her tale is passed down to her grandson, and he, too, will never forget. Especially when he is called on to play his own part in the story of Jesus by carrying Him into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. Sweetly and gently told, this rendition of the life of Jesus effectively conveys complex events in context and language that even very young children can understand. Pictured in the sensitive and charming watercolors of Peyton Carmichael, The Donkeys' Tales makes excellent reading for bedtime, Sunday School, or childhood learning on-your-own. Also appropriate for church pageants. Available with companion audiotape.
