著者简介

温斯顿・S・丘吉尔(1874―1965)，英国政治家，作家，演说家，英国首相。�

他出身贵族，毕业于皇家军事学院，1900年参加保守党竞选获胜，进入国会。1904年转为自由党议员，1908年任政府商务大臣，1911年改任内政大臣，同年10月转任海军大臣，1917年出任军需部长，1919年出任国防大臣，1921年改任殖民大臣，1924年出任财政大臣大臣，19 29年下台后专事写作。

二战初任海军大臣，1940年5月继任英国首相，参加了德黑兰三国首脑会谈和雅尔塔会议。1951年至1955年再度出任首相，1953年获得嘉得勋位和诺贝尔文学奖。12月参加英、美、法三国首脑百慕大会议。1955年正式退休。�

著有《第二次世界大战回忆录》(六卷)、《英国民族史》(四卷)等。
