本书作者基本秉持中立的立场，分别从中印双方的角度对涉及到两国几大关键角力领域(西藏，南亚诸国与印度洋，第三世界，核威慑)进行了详细的对比，很好地帮我厘清了之前知之甚少的南亚地缘政治的相关背景知识以及印度的核心利益关切(尤其是印度方对西藏和尼泊尔/不丹/锡金三国/地区的文化认同与外交政策以及1971年第三次印巴战争结局对南亚地缘外交政治带来的重大转变)，同时也使我能够更好的了解我国历年来南亚外交政策的传承与改变。虽然此书写于上个世纪末，但其对中印两国龙象之争的精确把脉与剖析直到今天也极具参考价值。 PS:图书馆借阅书籍#6

对于了解中印关系的起源很有帮助，十三章涉及到中印关系，在西藏、锡金、不丹、尼泊尔等地的争夺，中印巴微妙的关系以及中印核问题，比较全面，系统。英文也不难，就是书太厚了，啃得有点久。
