第一次看到这个故事是某次回国飞机上看到的电影。半睡半醒间看完的，朦胧中，最大的感触是：难得有部外国电影里能把中国农村从人到景表现的那么真实！ 后来就是auckland书店进门处摆起一摞摞英文版和大幅海报，宣传这本书。对这个人相当好奇外加隐约的崇拜。一直惦记着这本书...  

我看的是台湾翻译的中文版本，一个中国人用英语写的自传性质的书籍再翻译成中文后就感觉很奇怪：语气和用辞方面（还要加上台湾和大陆两边用词的差异）。很多地方竟觉得有些不是那么真实，有些矫情。 对于作者的所谓“叛逃”事件，虽说无可厚非，但也不是完全无可非议的，至少，...  

作者有网站, 网上也有文章介绍.力荐的原因是写得很朴实动人.很多处让我有同感,看了流眼泪. 做出留在美国的选择确实很难.估计电影出来了,网上又会争论.
