前幾天在朋友圈裏看到一篇“1+1=2”來介紹category的，草草讀瞭一下，就想起若乾年前讀過的這本書瞭。這本書好在確實把最好的東西都放進去瞭，不好之處在於堆瞭一大堆雜貨，如果讀這種厚書，學會切住最重要的東西可能是首要的。

入門的典範書

一定要去百度作者的名字，找到他的主頁，上頭有個勘誤錶，下載下來。這本書寫的風格和國內代數學課本的風格很像。我想或許應該反過來說，國內前一代數學傢很多是讀Rotman的風格學的。還是很好讀的，講得很全。不過行文單純是知識的記錄，甚至有些地方的文字講解很刻闆，和gelfand的旁徵博引，從各個角度去理解差遠瞭。
