看作家写游记显然不是为了攻略，重要的是他们的所思所想，对当时见闻的记录，以及见闻促发的思考。无论看斯坦贝克还是狄更斯还是村上春树还是毛姆，都是这个目的，有人说全是议论很无聊，不知道是不是这个娱乐至上的时代特有的看法，蠢是蠢得来！ 有很多地方很有共鸣。比如开篇...  

《横越美国》 第一次读约翰-斯坦贝克的作品，作为一名当代美国作家，他的名气远不如海明威，福克纳等人响当当，在中国尤为如此，未读他的书时，我并不知道这名作家，当知道《愤怒的葡萄》一书出自他手，才知道，他也创造过某种文化符号和流行用语。他也是1962年的诺贝尔获奖者...
