这些天看得神魂颠倒。特别美国的一部小说。这个故事布景和人物一样重要，薇拉凯瑟写景的功力绝不亚于哈代，很多段落极其动人。跟哈代不一样的是有好几重布景，孩子在内布拉斯加的草原上长大，同时也在东欧的村庄里长大，说捷克语学英语，吃波西米亚森林里采摘晾干的蘑菇也吃红...
