This book portrays the ModaFAD venture, a non-profit association formed by students, proto-designers, self-taught practitioners, stylists, multidisciplinary designers, sponsors and institutions, with a common goal: to launch emerging young Barcelona-based design talents into the fashion world. The book records the 25 editions of Modafad, with the inclusion of the most prominent designers which have emerged from each bi-annual event. Jordi Labanda, Spastor, Josep Abril, Celia Vela, Isaac Reina are some of the big names that started their careers in ModaFAD, and contribute to this book with short interviews and insights into their most current collections. Other contributors to the book include Chicks on Speed, with the tale of a work in progress workshop they organised at the 2005 ModaFAD event, or Diane Pernet’s interview.
