The rise of posters in the new China after establishment in 1949 satisfied the need of social movements, revolution and warfare, playing a significant role at the time. 在同類主題的書不那麼多的情況下，題材是絕佳的。國內能夠買到，價格也不太貴。但是，選圖方麵有一定的問題，一些著名的宣傳畫書中沒有齣現，一些特定時期的宣傳畫也沒有齣現，尤其是十年浩劫期間的。除此之外，部分宣傳畫的英文翻譯有很大的問題，要麼是沒譯完整，要麼是專有名詞（比如「全世界無産者，聯閤起來！」）摒棄專有譯法不用而自己發明個新譯法。部分地方校對有誤，主要是英語單詞拼錯。
