其实我并没看过这本书。但听了十几遍。最大的感受，即使像跑步这样看似简单的事情。常年坚持，成为爱好，也离不开家人的支持。

和专业运动员相比，Dean Karnazes除了跑步，还有一份在某个软件公司朝五晚九的工作，几乎完美的家庭，和各种其他户外运动爱好，听起来有点不可思议，他说这本书也是在跑步时用录音笔写的。看到一半的时候，稍微有点儿后悔今天晚上没去跑步，这本书的主要情节是四次超长跑运动，其中第一段，一百英里的Western States尤为感人，对超长跑中身体与意志搏斗的过程，暂时失明，幻觉，呕吐，疼痛，种种细节描写，也着实生动，读到他离终点两英里的时候实在跑不动只好往前爬的时候，我自己的腿似乎也难以动弹了。
