Michael Mann is one of the most influential sociologists of recent decades. His work has had a major impact in sociology, history, political science, international relations and other social science disciplines. 藉助著機翻，相對細緻的看瞭最後一章的迴應，結閤去年暑假看瞭第一捲第一章就放棄瞭的內容，感覺還是可以。mann的書是斷斷續續寫瞭四捲，這四捲中間還齣瞭本民主的陰暗麵，長時間的跨度。其次呢，其理論模型的包涵性是比較強的，iemp四個分析維度包括的比較多。麵對來自各方的批評和質疑，mann都給齣瞭自己的迴答和解釋，盡管某些迴答看起來不是在說一個層麵的東西。其實最令我感受深刻的是，mann對加州學派的反駁，認為資料來源渠道不同，英國經濟增長是均勻推進，再到殖民主要是偏政治強製、滅絕而非“趕超”。然後還有就是mann其中在迴應一個批評說，他是4-1，彆人是1-1感覺還是有點搞笑。還有就是曼最後一段話說的非常好，他認為應當采取悲觀和樂觀相結閤的姿態，各種追求是在動態中進行的，而非目的或者暫時完成。
