At the heart of this classic, seminal book is Julian Jaynes's still-controversial thesis that human consciousness did not begin far back in animal evolution but instead is a learned process that came about only three thousand years ago and is still developing. The implications of this revolutionary scientific paradigm extend into virtually every aspect of our psychology, our history and culture, our religion -- and indeed our future.

If you haven't read this book, you don't really like Westworld. If you don't think it's bullshit, then I feel sorry for you. Why do I have to write 140 words. That's it.

Whether or not you have watched "Westworld", you should take a look at this book. What amazes me is the hypothesis the Julian Jaynes provided.

"It is one of those books that is either complete rubbish or a work of consummate genius, nothing in between! Probably the former, but I'm hedging my bets."——Richard Dawkins
