著者簡介

Michael Ondaatje is the author of six previous novels, a memoir, a nonfiction book on film, and several books of poetry. The English Patient won the Booker Prize; Anil's Ghost won the Irish Times International Fiction Prize, the Giller Prize, and the Prix Médicis. Born in Sri Lanka, Michael Ondaatje now lives in Toronto.

書籍獨有的敘事魅力，真棒

又被捧得那麼高？衝著作者的名氣，逼著自己看完1/3，實在寫的一般。形散不要緊，神也散。想要說明什麼呢？通過Nathan的眼睛在觀察齣現在他身邊的一些人物，so what？一點也沒意思。如果要這樣看完80%，再憋個大招的話，實在憋不住。棄瞭。

4 把二戰這個爛大街的題材玩齣新花樣不是易事，把視角放在追尋真相的少年身上，真正的主角是戰後處於迷霧夜色裡的英國。離Ondaatje最好的水平有一段距離，但還是足夠精彩細膩。Rose延續他筆下女主背負著神秘過去的歷史，在天空翱翔自由的Olive有點像Anil，反而男主角最後那個驚天秘密頗為狗血。

封麵很傳神瞭：故事中加上迷霧、噪點，是倫敦的基調是戰爭的暗湧。作者的筆觸是往故事上營造其顆粒感，過期膠捲與雙重曝光。初期如同愛麗絲漫遊仙境般，有種探險的刺激感。隨著故事往前推進，就不再是一場愉悅的冒險瞭。是英國病人的味道（並未讀過其他小說），語言依舊很美，但更為緻鬱一些。沒想到後麵還有講到……布局也是很精心。有時候確實是能猜到故事的走嚮，所以可能略有點刻意。

喜歡Part1 Schwer. Agnes&狗的雷雨夜很美但中斷的好突然. Part2某些部分突然轉換全能視角/想像視角略奇怪那還安排他做*工作為乜如果隻發現Marsh的關聯和當年The Darter實際在做什麼的話? 哦還有Darter現住址因一首詩而發現的Darter和*真是/"You return to that earlier time armed with the present, and no matter how dark that world was, you do not leave it unlit. You take your adult self with you. It's not to be a reliving, but a rewitnessing."
