评分讀翁達傑的文字需要耐心和智慧，看透碎片式敘述之後藏著的那些聯係，如同最後發現的Agnes縫好掛在牆上的毯子，full of codes and unspoken agonies. 雖然跟英國病人的宏大比，這本關於冷戰的諜戰小說有些重復，但有那麼幾句話，讓人心頭一緊。 We change, we evolve. We are what we are for all our sufferings and mistakes in the past. 結尾那段宛若對這本小說囈語般敘述方式的反映：We order our lives with barely held stories. As if we have been lost in a confusing landscape.

评分男孩子成長故事，通過英國的諜戰聯係起來，從孩子的視角看人和事，從情報人員的視角進行迴顧，往事如流水，波光粼粼不過是匆匆的一瞥，洶湧的感情纔是原諒
评分又被捧得那麼高？衝著作者的名氣，逼著自己看完1/3，實在寫的一般。形散不要緊，神也散。想要說明什麼呢？通過Nathan的眼睛在觀察齣現在他身邊的一些人物，so what？一點也沒意思。如果要這樣看完80%，再憋個大招的話，實在憋不住。棄瞭。
