James Lovell will always be remembered as the astronaut who did not land on the Moon, but he should also be remembered as the man who calmly and courageously guided his crippled spacecraft back to Earth, set records for time spent in space, and was part of the mission that passed behind the dark side of the Moon. His long and distinguished career in the space program and beyond is recounted here.
